I have designed and managed several permanent installations of technical infrastructure in theatres, schools, event spaces and churches and I have specified temporary and portable equipment inventories.
My career as a creative Lighting Designer, Production Manager, Trainer and Technician has given me an excellent insight to how a venue’s set-up can help, or hinder, the creative endeavours and technical potential of any team. Having worked in some of the most state-of-the-art venues world-wide, but also having managed in the more fringe venues in our industry, as well as a raft of found-spaces, I know what makes a venue tick, even if it’s a temporary one. Allowing technical staff to work easily and freely gives them the time and space to support the artistic ventures of those making work in a venue. Making a space work efficiently saves on time and helps budgets, and making venues flexible opens up their creative potential and that advances our art.
I have designed lighting systems, staging solutions, audio infrastructure, data and AV services for all scales in the UK. I was an associate installation designer for Stage Electrics Ltd from 2007-2008, and have designed and managed projects as a freelance designer.
